Look at Lamar Jackson’s incredible Heisman suit jacket, which he got for $90 at Macy’s

The man looks good on a budget.

NEW YORK — Like NFL Draft night, the suit you wear to the Heisman Trophy ceremony can be the most talked-about portion of the night. In that spirit, I submit to you: Lamar Jackson, Heisman winner.

The suit jacket and pants came from Macy’s. It’s currently on sale for $89. That’s a steal for a jacket that typically goes for $295.

Jackson’s shoes and belt came from his cousin, who spotted them in a Florida mall. This is one part in a series of clothes Jackson had laid out this week to receive his different awards in a “look book,” according to Louisville’s sports information director.

“Well you know it’s our team color,” the Louisville QB said. “I just like the way it looked, and I like the way it felt, so I just went with it.”

He said the shoes mimic the way his eyes look in his helmet, and when asked if he tied the tie, he responded jokingly, “something like that.”

I asked Jackson where the idea for the look came from during the pre-Heisman press conference. Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield wanted to make sure I wasn’t trying to imply that Jackson didn’t look good. Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers said he had the same question when he first saw Jackson’s jacket.

Jackson will go down with these esteemed gentlemen in the annals of extremely good Heisman night suits. The jacket one-ups what fellow finalist Deshaun Watson wore to the ceremony last year.

It’s much better than Tyrann Mathieu’s look a few years ago.

And let us not forget former winner Mike Rozier’s outstanding suit getup during the 2014 ceremony.

So in the end, Jackson ended up winning two awards tonight. He absolutely won best-dressed.
