The Heisman Trophy will be handed out on Saturday night, and during the ceremony, a number of past winners will be paid tribute. One of those is none other than Desmond Howard, the Michigan do-it-all receiver who won the award in 1991.
Desmond Howard rocked his 1991 hairstyle for the 25th anniversary of his Heisman win
This is pretty cool.
Howard’s hair became a topic of conversation during this year’s ceremony, and for good reason. Back in the early 90s, his ‘do looked a bit different than how it does now. On the night he won the award, he was rocking this flat top/fade hair cut.
Now, Des has changed it up since his playing days. In honor of Heisman night, and Howard’s 25th anniversary of winning the award, Des decided to cut it on Saturday night for the show just like he had it in 1991. Earlier Saturday on ESPN’s College GameDay set, it looked like this, which is what we’re typically used to.
Chris Fowler, who is hosting the Heisman Ceremony, pointed out that Des got his hair cut today just in time for Saturday night.
Howard said he’d been planning on rocking this throwback look all season long when he found out it was his 25th anniversary.
You have to admit, that look suits Des pretty well.
