Okay, stay with me here.
Santa and a pug helped a 5-star recruit announce he’s going to UGA
This is at least the fourth time a player has committed to Georgia with a dog as a prop.

5-star commit Isaiah Wilson committed to Georgia on Friday during a holiday chapel ceremony at his high school in Brooklyn. Wilson is a really good prospect, and a good get for the Dawgs.
Wilson is a big pick up before you even consider his size. But on that subject, at 6’7, 350 pounds, he’s the type of super-sized lineman Jim Chaney has wanted to recruit. As you can see in the highlights below, what differentiates Wilson is that he is not flabby, and he has the feet you would expect from a guy 50 pounds lighter. Guys with his massive size and athleticism are very rare, but also very necessary if you’re going to throw from the pocket without getting your blue chip quarterback decapitated.
His commitment ceremony was an interesting affair. The applicable part starts about an hour in if you care to watch.
The nuts and bolts go like this.
Santa makes a surprise appearance at this holiday ceremony, and he’s holding a pug for some reason. We’re soon to find out that it’s a long game, though, as he holds it for about seven minutes before we figure out what it’s for.
Santa calls Isaiah up for a special announcement at the end of this holiday ceremony. He says “Isaiah is the biggest elf ever,” all in good fun. He then hands him a present.
The present turns out to be a Georgia hat, which Wilson unwraps and puts on to announce his college choice.
That bulge in Wilson’s shirt is actually a plush bulldog, which we get a closeup of later.
He takes off the elfish outer-garment to reveal the UGA sweatshirt pictured above, and completes the Georgia look complementing the hat.
Santa then hands him the real pug, and much to the joy of the crowd, he’s delivered a special present to them as well as Georgia fans everywhere.
This will go down in the history of players committing to Georgia with live animals.
4-star DL Michail Carter had a Bulldog back in February.
Evander Holyfield’s son, Elijah, did it with two Bulldogs last September.
And one cannot forget the OG live Bulldog commit, when Isaiah Crowell did it with a Bulldog puppy in 2011.
Today, Wilson joins the esteemed ranks of those gentlemen. Just some boys and their very Good Dawgs.
