The best part of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl are the ridiculous potato ads

These are things of beauty.

The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl between Central Michigan and Wyoming got underway Friday afternoon, and with it came the latest installment of one of the game’s commercials. We’ve seen some of these in year’s past, but this one was especially good.

I’m not sure about you, but I’m now going to assume “It’s mashing time!” is the bowl’s official new catchphrase. Not even mad.

These Famous Idaho Potato Bowl commercials aren’t new — this one from 2014 was one of the, well let’s just say most creative, featuring an anthropomorphic potato.

And some odd, dancing — cheertatoes?

Here’s the full ad, just to give you an idea of what we’re working with here.

And back in 2015, the bowl decided to advertise Idaho Potatoes by shooting potatoes out of a gun into other objects. No, really!

But one of my favorite ones, and perhaps the hidden gem of them all might be this one from four years ago, featuring none other than a talking potato named Stunt Tater.

But wait, there’s more of Stunt Tater from 2011!

Thank you for these, Famous Idaho Potatoes.
