Conference championship weekend may have gotten started on Friday night with the MAC and the Pac-12, but the real meat of the schedule is Saturday. Games with major Playoff implications won’t happen until later in the day, but the early schedule should make up for that by being incredibly fun.
College football schedule for championship weekend: TV times, live online streaming info, and more
Let’s bid farewell to the 2016 college football regular season.

The Conference USA title game between Louisiana Tech and Western Kentucky should be a high-scoring affair. Both teams can stack points in a hurry, and both are in the top 20 of the Offensive S&P+ rankings. The AAC title game will be more defensive, but both Temple and Navy enter this game on serious hot streaks, and should put on a show in their own right.
The SEC title game is probably the biggest mismatch of the day, as there aren’t many people who fancy Florida’s chances to spring the upset on Alabama. The Tide have been the best team in the country all year, and even if the unthinkable happens and they lose to the Gators, they will still be in the Playoff field.
The twin headlines in primetime, of course, are the ACC and Big Ten title games. Clemson can lock in a Playoff spot with a win over Virginia Tech. In Indianapolis, the Badgers and Nittany Lions will be playing for their Playoff lives. They could use some help from Virginia Tech to clear their paths to a Playoff spot, but in case it doesn't happen, the Rose Bowl is a perfectly fine consolation prize.
And for the fans who are looking for something a little more eccentric, the Mountain West title game will feature San Diego State and Wyoming, and will be played in frigid Laramie. Temperatures could dip into the teens during the game, and this could be a significant’ home field advantage for the Cowboys.
