San Diego State punter Tanner Blain is a special teams hero.
LOOK AT THIS F***ING PUNT
WELCOME TO PUNT CITY.

In Saturday’s Mountain West Championship at Wyoming, the SDSU senior stood in the shadow of his own goalposts, steeped in a 10-10 tie. He received a long snap, then used his right leg to deliver hellfire upon the Cowboys. He uncorked a doozy of a punt from his own 3-yard line, which sent Wyoming’s return man backtracking. The Cowboy couldn’t wrangle the football, and it bounced and rolled all the way to Wyoming’s 14-yard line.
It goes into the books as a 75-yard punt. Given the stakes involved, I’m submitting this as a nominee for Punt of the Year. I don’t care that it happened in the thin mountain air. Just look at this punt. Watch it fly, and revel in its glory for as long as time allows. Then navigate to one of last year’s equivalent punts, from the boot of Michigan’s Blake O’Neill.
