Jim Harbaugh was excited to see FSU’s horse, but it fell on the field pregame

Whoops.

Florida State’s mascot, Osceola, that rides out on an Appaloosa horse named Renegade before each FSU home game, had a little bit of a mishap at the Orange Bowl on Friday night. Renegade ran out on the field and bucked Osceola off its back, and he landed on the field.

The spear-planting had to happen sans horse for a change:

Another angle:

There’s good news! Renegade was not injured in this incident, according to Florida State. Phew.

Before the Orange Bowl, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh mentioned that he was excited to see the horse throw the fiery spear onto the field at the game.

Poor horse looks like it got a little stage fright.
