Bob Griese awkwardly denies his son Brian’s handshake attempt on live TV

Just a tad bit uncomfortable.

Former Michigan and NFL quarterback Brian Griese is in the booth calling the Orange Bowl between Michigan and Florida State. During the first half of the broadcast, Brian’s father, former Miami Dolphins quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer Bob Griese made an appearance.

Bob Griese shook Steve Levy’s hand, but then when his son Brian went for the handshake, we had one of the most awkward father-son exchanges ever.

A closer look gives you a better view of how uncomfortable this actually was, and how much the older Griese either wanted no part of this or didn’t realize what was happening.

I’m not sure how I’d react if I was a parent and my son had formally shaken my hand like this, though.
