Texas DC claims former star A&M recruit Von Miller ‘never was ranked by anyone’

That’s not really true.

Texas defensive coordinator Vance Bedford was advocating for an Aggie during the Super Bowl, tweeting praise for former Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller, who won the MVP award. He also threw in a shot at recruiting rankings.

Ware was under-recruited and went to Troy, but Miller was ranked by three major recruiting services and was ranked as a four-star by Rivals, despite being very undersized as a high school defensive end. That means just about everyone recognized his potential. He signed with Texas A&M, but he also reported offers from Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Florida, the latter of which was the powerhouse of the time (2007).

Bedford might not find much use for recruiting rankings sometimes, but when Texas was climbing the recruiting rankings on National Signing Day, Bedford was a fan of them.

Bedford could have learned all of this just by Googling it, but he’s had issues with Googling before.
