Tennessee had exactly 1 gain of more than 10 yards vs. Georgia. It ended with a lost fumble.

It was just that kind of day for the Volunteers.

Saturday was a really bad day for Tennessee. The 41-0 loss was the worst defeat in Knoxville in more than a century for the Volunteers, and the team was so offensively challenged that just one play in the entire game went for more than 10 yards.

But because it was the worst day ever for Tennessee, that play ended with a fumble, erasing an impressive play for star running back John Kelly. Here he is breaking off a 44-yard gain, which ended with a turnover.

Kelly has been the most exciting thing about the Tennessee offense so far in 2017 and was still the team’s best offensive player against Georgia. He rushed for 44 yards while the rest of the team combined for 22 yards on the ground.

He also led the team in receiving yards with 47, although that was bolstered by the 44-yard play that ended with a fumble. The next best receiver for Tennessee was running back Ty Chandler, who had 15 yards on three receptions.

All things considered, Saturday wasn’t that bad of a showing for Kelly, but it was still a day he and the rest of the Volunteers will want to forget.
