Louisville takes on the Florida State this Saturday at Doak Campbell Stadium, and the Noles have been asked already this week about last season’s 63-20 Cardinals beatdown. Florida State entered that game as the No. 2 team in the country and got torched. On Monday, Noles head coach Jimbo Fisher was asked if he’s taking this game personally because of what happened last year.
Is Louisville a revenge game for FSU? Depends if you ask Jimbo Fisher or his players
His cornerback Levonta Taylor doesn’t want a repeat of 2016.

Florida State cornerback Levonta Taylor was asked the same question, and he would respond with the direct opposite of an answer to Fisher’s.
“Yeah, we’re taking this week very personally because of what happened last year.” Taylor said, via the Orlando Sentinel.
“Just preparation, that’s all we gotta do,” Taylor said when asked about the mindset of the team this week. “Come out with that fire and desire that we need and we want, and that’ll handle itself on Saturday.”
Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson scored four rushing touchdowns and one passing during last year’s win.
“I just remember him scoring a lot, they had the bell ringing. This year, I don’t want to let that happen.”
To be fair to Jimbo here, very few college football head coaches are going to say any game is going to be taken personally, even if they are. Of course players have a lot more leeway for doing so, and we aren’t calling out Taylor or Fisher for giving different answers here — both answered pretty much as expected. As far as taking it personally in general, it wouldn’t hurt the 2-3 Noles to play with a chip on their shoulder, I think it’s safe to say.
The Noles are currently 6.5-point favorites, coming off a 17-10 win over the Duke Blue Devils, while the Cardinals lost to Boston College 45-42, dropping a three-game win streak over the Eagles since joining the ACC in 2014.
