UCF player injured after landing on Navy goat mascot’s bucket

This is a thing.

During No. 20 UCF’s game at Navy on Saturday in Annapolis, a player was tackled into a live goat and landed directly on that goat’s feeding bucket, injuring himself.

UCF running back Adrian Killins, Jr. took a hit along the sideline and flew straight into that bucket. The goat also briefly stood on top of Killins’ leg.

The goat in question appears to be Bill the Goat, Navy’s mascot. There are two goats in the immediate vicinity, and I’m not sure if both are Bill or what the deal is there.

A goat is an unusual one, but there have been lots of critters on and around the field at college football games in recent years that have come into play. A brief history:

Just last week, a jackrabbit:

Earlier this year, a squirrel:

One time, a dog attacked an Auburn player:

(That actually happened multiple times.)

Animals on the field are a feature, not a bug, of college football.
