You see that score South Carolina put up? That’s 48 points that the Gamecocks hung on Arkansas in a whoopin.
Bret Bielema’s Arkansas just became the first SEC team to give up over 40 to a Will Muschamp team since 2012
Well that’s not good, Arkansas.

Will Muschamp teams haven’t really had a penchant for offense. It was really bad at Florida, and the reason why he got fired. So I wondered, when’s the last time a Muschamp team went over 40 vs. a conference opponent? If you don’t want to count an Auburn game that went to four overtimes in 2015 with him as a defensive coordinator, you have to go all the way back to 2012 when Muschamp’s Florida team inexplicably hung 44 points on South Carolina.
Before today, this is what it took for a Muschamp team to hit the 40-point mark.
Also like the 2006 team, I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. The offense still doesn’t look great, but Jeff Driskel still managed to finish with the absurd line of 11/16 for 93 yards and 4 touchdowns, with Jordan Reed the recipient of two of those scores. Just try not to pay too much attention to the total yardage (183) stats. And let’s just be honest: the
minusplus 4 turnover ratio contributed slightly to the margin of victory.
Looking at this box score, it’s kinda hard to figure out how this game got so out of hand, save for one number.
Those four turnovers will do you in, and they certainly did so for the Hogs. This is another not-great showing for a Bret Bielema team. The season’s been tough for them with a 2-3 mark, and now 0-2 in conference play. If Bielema does end up getting the boot, this is yet another big nail in the coffin.
