Nebraska fans showed up at a UCF game in Philadelphia to woo Scott Frost with signs
Their commitment is strong.
It’s notable because UCF’s coach is Scott Frost, the former Nebraska quarterback and program hero. Frost has built the Knights into one of the best teams in the country with a high-flying, innovative offense. His team’s the frontrunner to represent the Group of 5 conferences in a New Year’s Six bowl game (the Peach, specifically), and he’s just about as hot a coaching candidate as there could possibly be.
Nebraska, of course, is bad. The Huskers gave up 54 points to Minnesota last week and sewed up a second losing season in three years under Mike Riley on Saturday, losing 56-44 to Penn State.
The Huskers already fired the athletic director who hired Riley and replaced him with someone who’s publicly praised Frost. Frost is a Nebraska target, and fans definitely want him.
I’m guessing these Husker fans didn’t jimmy all the way across the country to Philadelphia to put up these signs for Frost. They were probably already nearby. But whether they did or they didn’t, their dedication is impressive.
