Oklahoma State safety Tre Flowers and Oklahoma fullback Dimitri Flowers are cousins. They’re both from Texas, but they wound up on opposite sides of Oklahoma’s statewide football rivalry. In Bedlam 2017 on Saturday, Dimitri broke both of Tre’s ankles to get open for a touchdown reception.
Oklahoma fullback breaks the ankles of his cousin, an OSU safety, to score this TD
Thanksgiving might be awkward this year.

Flowers came out of the backfield to catch a 49-yard score from Baker Mayfield. On his way toward OSU’s end zone, he came across Tre. He then quickly said both hello and goodbye to his cousin and continued on his merry way to six points.
The two don’t just face each other annually in Bedlam now. They went head-to-head often in high school, when they played for different Texan schools:
Dimitri’s dad, Erik, played for nearly a decade in the NFL, and Tre’s dad, Rodney, played for years, so there were always games to talk about. Or watch on TV. Or play in the backyard.
When Tre and Dimitri were 8 or 9, they even played little-league football together. Tre was the lanky quarterback, Dimitri the burly tailback.
They played for different teams in middle school and high school, even meeting twice in the playoffs.
“He may have beat us every time,” Dimitri said. “May have. I don’t exactly remember it.”
Consider this particular play an act of revenge for Dimitri, then.
