I haven’t the slightest idea in the world what this is, other than that it’s mascot for a college football bowl game played in New Mexico. And that it’s a shirt:
The mascot for the New Mexico Bowl is this shirt that doesn’t have arms or a head
What in the world.

That’s a pretty accurate description! Another angle:
Gildan is the sponsor of the New Mexico Bowl, being played on Saturday between Marshall and Colorado State. The Gildan mascot is an armless, headless thing with vertical eyes extending out of its, um, torso. I don’t get it, but I’m intrigued by it.
Gildan sells shirts. So I’m gathering that this is just a personified shirt. And if that’s the explanation, I’m in awe of the company’s ability to make a mascot out of a shirt. Talk about building your brand through community interaction.
Weird mascots are a feature of bowl season, not a bug.
Here’s Obie from the Orange Bowl:
And the potato from the Potato Bowl:
The headless Gildan thing might be my favorite yet.
