For the second year in a row, a crucial play in the biggest game of Ohio State’s season has come down to a pivotal, razor-thin spot call on a J.T. Barrett run.
A J.T. Barrett 4th-down spot was key in another huge Ohio State game. And he got the call, again.
Look away, Michigan and Wisconsin fans.

You’ll recall that last year, Ohio State beat Michigan in their rivalry game after Barrett appeared to be stacked up, made a second effort, and reached for the marker. That was on a fourth down just like this was, and Barrett got the call, just like he did here.
The 2016 play, in case you’ve forgotten, which you haven’t:
It looks like Barrett really did get this one, whereas the 2016 Michigan spot was so 50/50 that it’s hard to be definitive about it all this time later.
The Buckeyes kept the ball with a 24-21 lead in the Big Ten Championship Game against Wisconsin. They did kick a field goal a few plays later to go up six.
If Ohio State wins, the Buckeyes will have a Playoff argument to make on Sunday. It’ll either be them or Alabama to join the field, in that case.
