During an interview with ESPN’s Roddy Jones on the sidelines of the Independence Bowl, where Deion Sanders’ alma mater was playing against Southern Miss:
Deion Sanders isn’t shooting down rumors he could join Florida State’s coaching staff
Both Prime and the Noles like being associated with each other in headlines.

There’s reporting here, by 247Sports’ Josh Newberg:
Florida State head coach Willie Taggart and former Seminole legend Deion Sanders have mutual interest in Sanders joining the team as its defensive backs coach.
As far-fetched as it sounds, a source with knowledge says Sanders has a serious interest in coaching at the college level. Sanders has coached at the high school level in Texas, he also has worked with the best players in the country each year at the Under Armour All-America Game.
That came out around the same time as this tweet by Taggart.
Taggart has mentioned Sanders in public, saying he plans to find “the next Deion Sanders, the next Peter Warrick, the next Charlie Ward,” in reference to recruiting.
And for several days now, Sanders has been teasing FSU fans hoping for him to come back to Tallahassee.
Deion Sanders is always happy to encourage public discussions that involve Deion Sanders, and even if he weren’t to actually join FSU’s staff — somewhere around here is where we note he’s never coached in college — there’s still value here for the Noles in further reminding recruits that the best and most beloved cornerback ever is a Nole.
