What should I know about the two teams in the Cactus Bowl?
UCLA (6-6, 4-5 in Pac-12)
The Bruins had a disappointing season, and they fired Jim Mora shortly after it ended. But they replaced him with Chip Kelly so things are looking up for the program.
UCLA has a great quarterback in Josh Rosen, though we’ll see if he participates in the bowl game. The Bruins’ running game and defense have left a lot to be desired for the last few years, but they can head into the offseason on a good note by winning here.

Kansas State (7-5, 5-4 in Big 12)
The Wildcats continue to make bowl games. This year marks eight in a row, and they even went 6-6 in 2009, Snyder’s first year back after a brief retirement. K-State has perfected the art of quietly going about beating more talented teams time after time, and being a really difficult out even when it doesn’t. The Cats stayed true to that script in 2017.
This year’s team was a typical Bill Snyder outfit. KSU liked to pound the ball on the ground, but it had a sometimes explosive passing game even with a rotating cast of three quarterbacks. The Wildcats have one of the slowest-paced offenses in the country, just like usual.
