Military Bowl 2017: Virginia vs. Navy location, date, and more
Date, time, location, team records, and more on this newly announced bowl game.

Where is the Military Bowl, and how can I watch?
Stadium and city: Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md.
Date and time: Dec. 28, 1:30 p.m. ET
TV and streaming: ESPN and WatchESPN
What should I know about the two teams in the Military Bowl?
Virginia (6-6, 3-5 in ACC)
The Cavaliers are bowling for the first time since 2011. Bronco Mendenhall got them there in his second year on the job, and the Hoos didn’t even have much drama: They were eligible with six wins by the first weekend in November. It’s been an impressive resurgence.
The UVA offense is not good, but the defense definitely is. The Hoos are stingy, and they’re a much more solid team than they’ve been in the last half-decade. This will be just their third bowl appearance since 2005. They only played in one during Mike London’s six seasons, and Mendenhall’s now equalled that total in two years.

Navy (6-5, 4-4 in AAC)
The Midshipmen are getting pretty used to the “bowl game” thing. They’re playing in one for the 14th time in 15 years, dating back to the second year of now-Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson’s tenure. They didn’t have a blockbuster win this year, but the Mids continued to establish themselves as a difficult out in the AAC, their league of three seasons.
Navy still has its annual game with Army to play before its bowl. That’s always the biggest game of the Mids’ season, though they’ll enjoy bowling again, too.
It’s clear at this point that Navy’s not “good for a mid-major.” Navy’s just good. For more on the program, stop by Underdog Dynasty, SB Nation’s hub for all things AAC.
