Jets’ Jamal Adams and Teez Tabor had an NFL draft bet since high school, and Adams won

The draft’s No. 6 pick will get a free vacation out of this, according to the bet’s terms.

Out of any position on the football field, defensive backs love to talk. NFL prospects Jalen Tabor and Jamal Adams (the No. 6 overall pick by the Jets) do that pretty well in addition to having skills on the field:

At the combine, NFL Network asked Adams about this tweet and he said that the two players made the bet while in Oregon at The Opening (a Nike recruiting camp for high school athletes). Both attended the camp in the summer of 2013 as high-level recruits.

“Basically, the bet is if he goes before me I have to pay for a trip anywhere in the country,” Adams said. “If I go before him, he’s gonna do the same. I told him from the get go that I was gonna go before him so we’ll see.”

But Adams initially misspoke. When asked where he’d go if he were picked, Adams said he’d go to Paris which is obviously not in the United States. Tabor said he’d pick “Amsterdam or somewhere like that,” should he get called first on draft night.

Our resident mock draft aficionado, Dan Kadar, doesn’t have Tabor in his first round, but does have Adams as the first DB taken off the board.

Now that Adams is off the board first, have fun in France, guys!
