USC is a 15.5-point betting favorite in Los Angeles at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Since the start of last season, the Trojans are 8-0 SU and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games played at the Coliseum.

Many college football fans and bettors had USC on upset alert heading into last Saturday’s matchup against the Stanford Cardinal. The Trojans had looked vulnerable in their 49-31 season-opening win, and it liked like another nail-biter might be imminent when Stanford’s Bryce Love burst through the middle for a 75-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
Instead, USC’s defense settled down and the team imposed its will for the rest of the game, outgaining Stanford 623 to 342 in a 42-24 win.
The USC offense has been virtually unstoppable of late, averaging 43.1 points per game over the team’s current 9-0 SU and 7-2 ATS stretch, per the OddsShark College Football Database.
Texas Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns opened their season with a disastrous loss to the Maryland Terrapins, giving up 51 points at home in a 51-41 loss as 19-point favorites. The Longhorns responded well last Saturday, shutting out San Jose State 56-0 as 26.5-point favorites.
The shutout against a weak team won’t erase doubts about this team’s defense, but the offense certainly looks strong under new head coach Tom Herman, averaging 48.5 points per game through the first two games of the season. Texas is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games against Pac-12 opponents.
Saturday night’s total is set at 67.5 points. The OVER is 4-0 in USC’s last four games.
Whether Texas’ defensive performance against Maryland was a fluke or a sign of things to come this season, it’s safe to assume that the Trojans are going to score a lot of points on Saturday. If Texas is able to do the same, this could be an exciting shootout that goes right down to the wire. If not, it could get out of hand in a hurry.
