We’ll get an early look at whether TCU deserves to be in the Big 12 title conversation when they travel to Stillwater on Saturday to face Oklahoma State in what might be the best college football game of the weekend. The No. 16 Horned Frogs will collide with the No. 6 Cowboys at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN (livestream).

Two undefeated teams will battle to keep their respective records unblemished.

Expected to be in strong contention for the Big 12 crown, Oklahoma State has steamrolled its non-conference opponents by an average of nearly 37 points per game behind one of the country’s best offenses. The Cowboys can throw the ball with ease — Mason Rudolph has compiled 1,135 passing yards with 11 TDs to put himself into early Heisman contention — but their rushing attack has been strong, as well. The Cowboys have 599 rushing yards and seven touchdowns this season. Sophomore running back Justice Hill has galloped for 250 yards and three scores this season, and he is the lead dog in the Cowboys’ backfield. But OSU hasn’t faced a real test.
TCU (3-0) isn’t having problems defeating its opponents, as the Horned Frogs won their first three games by an average of nearly 35 points themselves, but they have a big challenge on the road ahead of them if they expect to proclaim themselves contenders. The Horned Frogs offense looks great this year, especially when they run the ball. TCU currently has 691 rushing yards and eight scores on the ground so far, and sophomore running back Darius Anderson is responsible for 262 rushing yards and four touchdowns. QB Kenny Hill has added eight TDs in the air.

TCU vs. Oklahoma State news
The big advantage? Their competition to this point. While TCU has been in games with Arkansas and SMU, OSU had blown out three bad football teams. The Frogs will learn a lot about their team this week, though, as they go up against a high-powered OSU offense.
OSU has drastically exceeded projections so far — the preseason S&P+ projections did not like the Cowboys’ defense — and that could continue with a drubbing of TCU. But TCU has looked awfully strong too. The Horned Frogs could give themselves a chance.
TCU vs. Oklahoma State prediction
The Cowboys look like they’ll come out of this one on top, but don’t expect this game to be a runaway for the hosts like the spread might indicate. Their defense has passed the test better than expected so far, but the Horned Frogs ought to give them a challenge they have yet to see.
