NC State defensive lineman Bradley Chubb is one of the best players in the country. He was typically dominant during the Wolfpack’s 27-21 upset win at No. 12 Florida State on Saturday. Afterward, Chubb ran to midfield and spit on FSU’s logo:

Bradley Chubb had a monstrous game, too.

I’m not sure of the full story here, but this doesn’t seem like a big deal. People will make it a big deal, like they did when Oklahoma’s quarterback jammed a flag into Ohio State’s logo after a road win a few weeks ago. Still, college students are college students, and they’re going to do disrespectful things sometimes.
Football is a disrespectful sport where people mash into each other every play. FSU has some rude traditions of its own, such as the school’s “sod cemetery” made up of grass from road stadiums they’ve won in.
Chubb was great against FSU, which affords him some latitude to celebrate how he likes. He had two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery on the same play. He caused problems for the right side of FSU’s offensive line all afternoon.
When the Noles lose, they’re often the victims of postgame jabs. Those more commonly take the form of opposing players doing their tomahawk chop, but this is another way of going about dissing a divisional opponent.
NC State had been 0-9 against ranked opponents under head coach Dave Doeren.
