The College Football Playoff National Championship is in Atlanta on Monday, with an 8 p.m. ET kickoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The scene outside is, uh, chaotic.
Outside: National Championship fans in the cold because of Trump’s visit. Inside: Well, the roof’s leaking again.
The title game was an adventure before it even started.

A visit by President Donald Trump has combined with ugly weather, the Atlanta metro area’s general business, and the influx of thousands of fans to make it really difficult to get inside the stadium ahead of kickoff.
Trump’s travel to the game certainly played a part.
That’s one thing. Another is that some gates were entirely shut down while Trump’s motorcade made its way to the field, leading to a logjam outside.
SB Nation’s Morgan Moriarty took this video from just outside the stadium:
This is a roofed stadium, but it was leaking ahead of game time. The Macon Telegraph reported water was falling onto the field during warmups.
File this under things that would happen to the city of Atlanta.
The Georgia state capital is hosting the College Football Playoff National Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which theoretically should protect the players and fans from the outside elements. But outside of the dome, which has a not-yet-fully-functioning retractable roof, rain has been pouring for some time. Around 6:15 p.m., a leak was noticed coming down from the roof around the 21-yard line closes to the end zone painted with Georgia’s team name.
The leak, a steady stream, was spotted coming down on the hash mark closes to the Georgia sideline.
It’s at least the second time the roof has leaked in this billion-dollar venue, which is in its first season of existence. It also happened in October.
