UCF QB McKenzie Milton carted off the field against USF with gruesome leg injury

He took a big hit early in the second quarter.

UCF starting quarterback McKenzie Milton left Friday afternoon’s game against the USF Bulls, and was carted off the field with an ugly leg injury. The game was early in the second quarter, when he took a big hit to the knee on a running play.

Knights and Bulls players knelt down while he was on the field, and there was a hush over the crowd at Raymond James Stadium.

The Knights’ QB had an immobilizer on his right leg, and he was transported to St. Joseph Hospital near USF’s stadium per ESPN.

The hit he took was hard to watch, and ESPN wisely did not show a replay.

Milton has been a huge part of UCF’s last two seasons, leading the Knights to almost all of their 23 straight victories. Milton’s back-up, Darriel Mack entered for him after the injury. McGowan is a sophomore, a little bigger than Milton.

Hopefully it isn’t season-ending for Milton, but this certainly looks like a very serious injury, and you hate to see this happen to a player like Milton. So far this season, he threw for 2,577 yards and 25 touchdowns, including another none touchdowns on the ground. Milton is a junior who would still have a season of eligibility left in 2019.

The Knights still beat USF 38-10, and the Knights will play Memphis next week in the AAC Championship Game. Later Friday evening, it was reported that Milton dislocated his knee:

UCF told ESPN’s reporter that he would not be returning to the USF game, but it wouldn’t give any further information regarding the injury.

We will update this post with any further information.
