Belk Bowl 2018, South Carolina vs. Virginia: Where, when, and team info
The game in Charlotte now has its matchup.

Who’s playing in the 2018 Belk Bowl?
South Carolina (7-5, 4-4 in SEC)
Make that three bowls in three years for Will Muschamp in Columbia. This year’s team wasn’t as good as last year’s 9-4 outfit, but the Gamecocks were a more aesthetically pleasing team than Muschamp is known for coaching. They finished the regular season 25th in Offensive S&P+, compared to a surprising 79th on defense. Their passing game, led by QB Jake Bentley, was a significant strength, as he built up great connections with three difference receivers who had at least 600 (or technically 597) yards: Deebo Samuel, Bryan Edwards, and Shi Smith. The Cocks played in one of last year’s most exciting bowls, when they came back from 16 down to beat Michigan in the Outback.
Virginia (7-5, 4-4 in ACC)
The Hoos won more games than they usually do and seem to have made progress under Bronco Mendenhall. But they blew a chance to win the ACC Coastal down the stretch, even before they took one of the most devastating losses of the year to Virginia Tech, the rival that’s now beaten them 15 times in a row, never in a more painful fashion than in 2018. QB Bryce Perkins is a good time, but this team’s strength is defense.
