Sugar Bowl 2019, Georgia vs. Texas: Where, when, and team info
The game in New Orleans now has its matchup.

Who’s playing in the 2019 Sugar Bowl?
Georgia (11-2, 7-1 in SEC)
The Dawgs lost to Alabama in the SEC title game, despite putting themselves in a perfect position to knock off the best team in the country. That was brutal. But in the course of that loss, the Dawgs went toe to toe with the best and looked – for the second time in 2018 – like their equal for a lot of the game.
Jake Fromm tapered off some in the second half of the Bama game, but he looks like he’s developed as a passer who can do heavy lifting even when the run game’s not working great. That’s not often; the Dawgs’ run game is tremendous, at least when it’s not in goal-line situations. The defense hasn’t been quite up to Kirby Smart’s usual standard, and it’ll have to contend with coordinator Mel Tucker’s impending exit to Colorado. But the Dawgs are going to be hard to play against, as usual.
Texas (9-4, 7-2 in Big 12)
The Longhorns made some solid steps forward in Tom Herman’s second year. They beat Oklahoma once, before falling to OU in the Big 12 Championship, and usually won the games they were supposed to win. The biggest exception to that was Week 1 at Maryland, and close-call defeats to Oklahoma State and West Virginia stung a lot, too. QB Sam Ehlinger is a blast to watch, as are his top two receivers, Lil’Jordan Humphrey and Collin Johnson. The defense, led by a bunch of seniors with some talented freshman DBs mixed in, has struggled to play consistently.
