Sun Bowl 2018, Stanford vs. Pitt: Where, when, and team info
The game in El Paso now has its matchup.

Who’s playing in the 2018 Sun Bowl?
Stanford (8-4 , 6-3 in Pac-12)
The Cardinal were a disappointment. A team that had legitimate Pac-12 title aspirations and was 4-0 after a dramatic win at Oregon lost four of its next five — blowouts to Notre Dame and Utah, closer Ls to Washington State and Washington — to fall out of any kind of contention. The Stanford defense was weirdly bad this year and had particular trouble against the pass. Running back Bryce Love dealt with injuries and didn’t have nearly the year he did in 2017, when he was second in Heisman voting.
Pitt (7-6, 6-2 in ACC)
The Panthers got dumptrucked by Clemson in the ACC Championship, failing to add to a long history of shocking upsets. That was anticlimactic. But Pitt still has an excellent running game, which has carried it this year in spite of an iffy defense and below-average quarterback play. Two senior backs, Qadree Ollison and Darrin Hall, are a lot of fun to watch. Pitt’s gotten almost no explosiveness in the passing game, but if that shows up, the offense becomes exceptionally hard to stop.
