The 2018 Heisman Trophy went to Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray, who beat out Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa and Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins.
Bama players suggest revenge after Kyler Murray won the Heisman over Tua Tagovailoa

Although Tagovailoa was the favorite to win it all season long until right before results were unveiled, Murray’s stellar late-season push gave him the edge for the awards in the end.
Still, 2018 marked one of the closest Heisman races ever, with Tagovailoa having the most voting points ever (1,871) as a runner-up, per ESPN. More than in pretty much any other year, there’s a camp of fans and voters who think the wrong guy won the trophy. Both Tua and Kyler had excellent cases.
Shortly after Murray won, some of Tagovailoa’s teammates, and even one coach, were pretty unhappy about their QB not winning it.
You’ll note a theme in these tweets: that it seems like Alabama’s really looking forward to the Orange Bowl Playoff semifinal against OU later this month.

Some Alabama fans, at least, have been critical of Oklahoma for launching a media campaign for Murray that went a bit negative (by the standards of these things, anyway) on Tagovailoa.

Tua and Kyler, for their part, seemed to get along great during their awards tour.
Tagovailoa beat Murray for the Maxwell Award, which goes to the country’s best all-around player, and the Walter Camp, which is a player of the year award. (College football’s got lots of similar awards.) Murray won the Davey O’Brien, for the top QB,
This was a year of worthy finalists. And it’s OK that Bama’s not happy.
In the meantime, Dec. 29 can’t come soon enough.
