The Washington Huskies went 10-3 straight up and 7-6 against the spread last season in their second straight 10-win season under head coach Chris Petersen. The Huskies enter the 2018 season as the No. 6 team in the AP Top 25 rankings and will face another Top 10 team in that poll in the No. 9 Auburn Tigers this Saturday.

Washington is a 2.5-point underdog on the college football Week 1 betting lines at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com in this matchup that is being played at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

Auburn should have a chip on its shoulder this season after ending 2017 on an 0-2 slump after going 5-0 SU and 3-1-1 ATS with wins over Georgia and Alabama in its previous five games. The winner of this game will have an early inside track for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

In another huge matchup on Saturday, the No. 12 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-1) host the No. 14 Michigan Wolverines. Notre Dame finished up the 2017 season on a 9-2 SU and 7-4 ATS run and is 5-0 SU in its last five games at home. Michigan is 2-6 SU and ATS in its last eight trips to Notre Dame.

Two more games between ranked teams are scheduled in prime time this week as No. 8 Miami (-3) takes on No. 25 LSU at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday night and No. 20 Virginia Tech visits No. 19 Florida State (-7.5) on Monday night. Florida State has failed to cover the spread in each of its last six games against conference foes, according to the OddsShark College Football Database.

The Alabama Crimson Tide enter the 2018 season as the preseason favorite for the third season of college football in a row. Alabama kicks off its campaign facing the Louisville Cardinals at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The spread on this game might be less lopsided if Lamar Jackson were still under center for the Cardinals, but as things stand Louisville is a 25-point underdog in its season opener.

Rounding out the preseason Top 5 in action this week are FCS Furman at No. 2 Clemson, FCS Austin Peay at No. 3 Georgia, Western Kentucky at No. 4 Wisconsin (-34.5), and Oregon State at No. 5 Ohio State (-37).
