The Washington Huskies are 10-0 straight up and 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 games played in the month of September. The Huskies face a tough September challenge this Saturday night as the preseason No. 6 team when they clash with the No. 9 Auburn Tigers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Washington is a 1.5-point underdog in Atlanta at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Chick-fil-A Kickoff game is being played at a technically neutral location, but the crowd figures to lean towards Auburn with its closer proximity to the school and its placement in SEC country.

Huskies vs. Tigers OddsShark Matchup Report

Washington Huskies

The Pac-12 has some image rebuilding to do in 2018. The conference had the worst bowl performance ever for a Power 5 conference, going 1-8 SU during bowl season including Washington’s 35-28 loss against Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl.

The Huskies enter this season as one of the most talented teams in the nation, but the path to a playoff spot may require a perfect record given the current perception of the Pac-12. A win over Auburn in Georgia would certainly help in getting the conference back on track.

The Huskies are just 1-10 SU and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games as a betting underdog including a current run of 0-4 SU and ATS per the OddsShark College Football Database.

Auburn Tigers

Auburn’s 28-7 loss to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game and the 34-27 loss to UCF as 15-point favorites in the Peach Bowl that followed may make some forget just how dominant the Tigers were for most of 2017.

The Tigers went 9-1 SU and 6-2-2 ATS in their 10 games following a 14-6 September loss to Clemson, pulling off upsets over eventual playoff teams Alabama and Georgia in the process. Auburn has legitimate playoff sleeper potential and is 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS in its last three games against Pac-12 opponents.

Saturday night’s total is set at 48 points. The UNDER is 7-1 in Washington’s last eight games as an underdog.

This should be an excellent matchup between two of the nation’s best teams. The loser of this game will have plenty of time to regroup and put together a strong season in conference play, but the winner will have a statement win that could even serve as a playoff tiebreaker down the road.
