College football’s Week 5 results gave us some important action at the height of the top-25 rankings, with Ohio State beating Penn State and Notre Dame whooping Stanford.
Here are Week 6’s new college football rankings
We’ll add each significant new top 25 here as it shows up.


Elsewhere in the previous top 25: Washington, Florida, Virginia Tech, Oregon, and West Virginia beat ranked teams, meaning shakeups all over the bottom of the rankings too.
Otherwise, most of the previously ranked teams just held serve, though Clemson now has some major QB drama.
Below, we’re collecting updated top-25 rankings heading into Week 6.
The usual disclaimers apply. The only college football ranking that matters in the end is the Playoff selection committee’s ranking on Selection Sunday, and the committee can change its mind suddenly. It doesn’t even start to release weekly Playoff rankings until around Halloween.
