Stanford Cardinal

Bryce Love’s 2018 campaign got off to an uncharacteristically awful start as the senior tailback managed only 29 yards on 18 carries last Saturday against San Diego State. Instead, K.J. Costello was the star of the offense, racking up four touchdown passes and 332 passing yards in Stanford’s 31-10 victory. Love had 125 yards and a touchdown in 22 carries against USC last season and will be facing a Trojans defense that allowed 308 rushing yards to UNLV last week.

In addition to entering this game with a nine-game winning streak at home, the Cardinal are also 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS in their last six September home games and 3-1 SU in their last four home games against USC per the OddsShark College Football Database.

USC Trojans

Heading into the fourth quarter against UNLV up only 19-14 at home was not how the Trojans drew up their season opener as 24.5-point favorites. USC did eventually pull away with a 24-point fourth quarter for a 43-21 win. Freshman JT Daniels went 22-of-35 with 282 passing yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the win. Since going 6-0 ATS to end the 2016 regular season, the Trojans are just 4-12 ATS over their last 16 games including a current stretch of 0-4 ATS.

Saturday’s total is set at 56.5 points. The UNDER is 6-2 in USC’s last eight games on the road.

Stanford has fared well against USC in recent years with an 8-5 SU and 9-4 ATS record in its last 13 games against the Trojans. The winner of this year’s matchup will emerge as Washington’s biggest threat to contend for the Pac-12 title.
