The Big Bash League or BBL as it is called, will have its first edition played this year from December 16. The BBL 2011 will have eight teams and the tournament will last for around one and a half months before the final on January 28 next year.

The first ever edition of the Big Bash League will be held in the December this year with the final to be played on January 28
Format of the Big Bash League T20 2011-12:
Eight teams will participate in the tournament, with two teams each from Melbourne and Sydney and one from Perth, Adelaide, Hobart and Brisbane. All the eight teams will play against each other in a round-robin tournament, before the top four will go through to the semi-finals of the tournament.
