Lance Armstrong interview will air Thursday on OWN

The interview will be split into two nights and streamed on Oprah.com.

Lance Armstrong’s confession is the biggest thing to happen to the Oprah Network since ... ever?

As a result, they’re cutting it into two separate nights of programming, to be aired as a two-part special on OWN. The first episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter will air Thursday night, from 9-10:30 p.m. ET, with the conclusion set for Friday at 9 p.m.

Or, as Oprah told CBS (via the Washington Post):

Anyway, she continued, the interview will run over two nights because “we felt that to leave over half of this on the cutting room floor, after millions of people have been waiting for years for many of these answers, would not be the right thing to do.”

And if you can’t find OWN on your cable TV or satellite dish, don’t worry: The entire interview will be streamed live on Oprah.com

It’s a win-win for both participants. Lance needs to repair his image after a series of devastating hits in the last year, while Oprah needs people to actually watch her network. OWN’s ratings have improved over the two years since its launch, but the interview will be worth plenty more to the network, according to Forbes.

For everyone else, it’s a chance to set your DVRs.
