F1 results 2017: Max Verstappen wins Malaysian Grand Prix, plus full finishing order
Max Verstappen of Red Bull had a brilliant race on Sunday, winning the F1 Malaysian Grand Prix.

He didn’t give it up, leaving Hamilton in second to increase his Drivers Championship lead and his Red Bull teammate, Daniel Ricciardo, in third to round out the podium spots.
Hamilton entered the race as the leader in the Drivers Championship, and favored to increase that lead thanks to Sebastian Vettel starting from the back of the grid and teammate Kimi Raikkonen suffering an issue before the race as well. Vettel couldn’t participate in qualifying, while Raikkonen qualified in second just behind Hamilton on pole, but could not start the race.
The start of the race saw Valtteri Bottas get a great start. He made it past Ricciardo and scrapped with Verstappen in second. Vettel quickly carved his way up to 13th on the grid by the second lap.
Verstappen made his way past Hamilton on Lap 4, getting DRS to make the move. Several laps later, on Lap 10, Vettel makes his way into 10th past Fernando Alonso. Then, Ricciardo and Bottas went wheel to wheel around two separate turns before the Red Bull driver made the move stick to take third place.
By Lap 21, Vettel made a move on Sergio Perez of Force India to take fifth place on the grid. After the first round of pit stops, Hamilton stayed in front of Vettel and Bottas, but Vettel pulled off the undercut to make it past Bottas, taking fourth place on the grid.
Around that same time, Esteban Ocon and Carlos Sainz Jr. came together, and Sainz had to stop his race on Lap 31. Jolyon Palmer of Renault suffered a spin late, and Nico Hulkenberg reported serious issues with his tires with about 13 laps to go. His team advised him, just outside the points in 11th, that stopping was not an option.
He eventually fell back far in the grid, back to 16th. Ocon wound up in the 10th spot for the final points position, with Fernando Alonso of McLaren just behind him.
Newcomer Pierre Gasly, taking over for Daniil Kvyat, who is done — for now — with Toro Rosso, finished in 14th on the grid, attacking Romain Grosjean of Haas through to the final lap but being unable to pass him.
