Lewis Hamilton has won the Canadian Grand Prix, going from pole to victory on Sunday.

Bottas started third on the grid, but quickly made his way up into second and sat there for the remainder of the race.
The start of the race was incredibly exciting, with Max Verstappen of Red Bull and Bottas of Mercedes quickly jumping Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari. They both got unreal starts, and Verstappen even ended up in second place with Bottas in third.
Unfortunately for Verstappen, he suffered engine issues 11 laps in and became the third person knocked out of the race. The first two were Carlos Sainz of Toro Rosso and Felipe Massa of Williams, who came together on the third turn of the race.
Vettel took some damage to his front wing on that opening lap and quickly dropped through the field. He wound up having to take a pit stop and rejoined at the back of the pack. Kimi Raikkonen lost a couple places when he went off the track and nearly lost control of his car, so it was a pretty miserable start for Ferrari.
Bottas took his first pit stop on Lap 25, before Hamilton. Hamilton’s engineer came across the radio and said the team was considering the soft tire, because it’s the one that Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull was running and the times were looking good.
Hamilton came in to pit on Lap 32, and they put on the super soft tires. He made it quite a ways on the ultra soft tires. Esteban Ocon also pit at the same time from second place, and he came out between the two Ferrari drivers in sixth.
Eventually, Ocon made it up into fifth while Raikkonen pit again and fit the ultra soft tires. Perez comes over the radio around Lap 49 asking what else he can do to get past Ricciardo, but his team has no answers for him.
Ocon had the fresher tires than Perez and it’s surprising Force India didn’t ask Perez to let Ocon pass so he could try and hunt down Ricciardo. Instead, Ocon stayed behind Perez despite being on the fresher tires, and that allowed Vettel to begin making moves on Ocon. With five laps to go, Vettel was pushing Ocon and trying to get past.
Ocon, still being slowed by Perez, tried to pass his teammate, but had to go wide and he lost his place to Vettel because Perez defended. A couple laps later, Vettel made short work of Perez. It was a bad, bad decision for Force India and it lost them several points.
