Week 2 of the fantasy football season is upon us! Last week we saw most of the good tight end performances on Thursday night with Tucker Kraft and Zach Ertz putting together TE1 and TE2 performances for the week. Sunday and Monday did not do much to bring the position up. We did see Jake Ferguson and Juwan Johnson put together strong performances, giving us some hope for consistency from those two in a very non-consistent position. Below, we’ll take a look at the tight end landscape for Week 3.

Tight end injuries
Dallas Goedert, Eagles
Goedert is dealing with a knee injury that kept him out of Week 3 against the Chiefs. He didn’t practice at all heading up to the game, so his status for this week against the Rams is in question. Grant Calcaterra is his primary backup, but only saw two targets in Week 3.
Brock Bowers, Raiders
Bowers appeared to be less than 100% on Monday night against the Chargers. It appears he’s made it through the gam okay, so with a bit more time off this week, hopefully he’ll be closer to 100% against the Commanders.

Juwan Johnson vs. Seahawks
Johnson’s target share has been too big for him to fail in PPR so far this season. Add in Kellen Moore’s fast-paced offense and I expect his target numbers to remain high. He gets a tough matchup this week in Seattle, but I’m still on board in standard, as he’s second in red zone tight end targets with three.
Ja’Tavion Sanders vs. Falcons
Sanders saw a team high 10 targets in Week 2 from Bryce Young. He ended up catching seven passes for 54 yards. He has yet to catch a touchdown, which he needs to be useful in standard leagues, but he also leads all tight ends with four red zone targets.
