Week 3 of the fantasy football season is almost here and it is time to check out how the running backs stack up. So far, the Colts Jonathan Taylor leads the league in rushing yards, with 236 yards, while James Cook and Javonte Williams lead in touchdowns with three each. Our receiving leader is Christian McCaffrey, who has caught 15-of-17 targets for 125 yards and a touchdown so far. Those numbers come after he scared us half to death with a calf injury. Overall, Javonte Williams has been the most surprising fantasy back in the Cowboys currently Top 5 offense.

RB injuries
Aaron Jones, Vikings
Jones suffered a hamstring injury on Monday night and won’t be able to play this week against the Bengals. Jordan Mason should get a nice bump in a good matchup.
Austin Ekeler, Commanders
Ekeler is done for the season with a torn Achilles. Jacory Croskey-Merritt will continue to see early down work and will be opened up to more snaps, while Jeremy McNichols will take on more passing down work.

Trey Benson vs. 49ers
Benson has taken over the bulk of the receiving downs and apparently the 2-minute drill as well. That makes him useful in full PPR leagues moving forward. He’s also shown a bit more burst than James Conner, so there’s always a chance he’ll see an uptick in overall work sometime soon.
Tyler Allgeier vs. Panthers
Allgeier continues to see a good workload on the ground. He had 16 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown with a big lead on Monday night and 10 carries in a close game in Week 1. The Panthers can be run on, and Allgeier should again see his 10+ attempts in this one.
