Week 8 of the NFL season is here! Unfortunately for us fake footballers, Week 8 is going to be a tough one. We have six teams on bye, which is going to boost a lot of non-playable fantasy quarterbacks into start/sit questions this week.
Top 30 fantasy football QBs for Week 8
Chet Gresham takes us through the top 30 quarterbacks for Week 8

Week 8 byes
Cardinals, Jaguars, Lions, Rams, Raiders, Seahawks
Quarterbacks on bye
Jacoby Brissett, Kyler Murray, Trevor Lawrence, Jared Goff, Matthew Stafford, Geno Smith, Sam Darnold
QB injuries/news
Bryce Young, Panthers
Young injured his ankle in Week 7 and won’t play in Week 8 against the Bills. Backup Andy Dalton will take over for that game and after that we’ll likely go week-to-week depending on the severity of the injury and how well Dalton plays.
Jayden Daniels, Commanders
Daniels tweaked his hamstring in Week 7 against the Cowboys, but initial reports are that he avoided a sever injury. We’ll see this week if he has any chance to start against the Chiefs on Monday night.
Kyler Murray, Cardinals
Murray has a mid-foot sprain and missed the last two weeks. With a bye this week, we’d expect he is ready to return in Week 9 against the Cowboys on Monday Night Football. Jacoby Brissett has played well in his absence, but does have two losses.
JJ McCarthy, Vikings
McCarthy has been out since Week 3 with an ankle injury and should be able to return sooner than later, but at this point it’s fair to ask if Carson Wentz has been starting ahead of McCarthy. Wentz isn’t 100% and hasn’t played great, so who knows what will happen this week, but McCarthy may have a shot to play this Thursday against the Chargers.
Lamar Jackson, Ravens
Jackson was forced from Week 4’s game against the Chiefs with a hamstring injury and did not return. He was unable to play in Week 5 or 6 and then got a bye week in Week 7. The hope is that he’ll be able to return this week to take on the Bears at home. And since they are currently 6.5-point favorites, it seems like he will play.
Brock Purdy, 49ers
Purdy’s toe injury flared up during their Week 4 loss to the Jaguars. He was then unable to play the next three games. There is a chance he can return this week to take on the Texans in Houston, but they’ll make sure he is 100%, as Mac Jones has played well enough in his absence.
