The 2-6 New York Giants will host the 5-3 San Francisco 49ers on Sunday as 2.5-point underdogs. Jaxson Dart has taken over the starting quarterback job, helping them to wins over the Eagles and Chargers, but also losses to the Saints and back to back losses to the Broncos and Eagles. It’s been a mixed bag, but he’s been helping them stay competitive for the most part.
Darius Slayton start or sit: Week 9 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Darius Slayton ahead of Week 9
The loss of star wide receiver Malik Nabers early in the season has been the biggest blow to the offense, while losing rookie running back Cam Skattebo last week was a close runner-up. The team very much needs their deep threat and nominal WR1, Darius Slayton, to show up.
Below, we’ll go over Darius Slayton’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 9.
Fantasy Football analysis: Giants, WR, Darius Slayton
Last week we came extremely close to seeing Slayton’s breakout game, unfortunately a bad OPI call negated a long touchdown reception. Slayton has been slowed by injuries this year, but even when healthy, he’s yet to put together a starting fantasy game.
The 49ers defense is hurting and they can get no pass rush generated, which should be good for Dart and Slayton’s possible connection. I have him ranked around WR42, which puts him in WR4/flex mode and that’s where I see him, but with decent upside in a game I could see having some useful offensive production.
