The 4-4 Minnesota Vikings will host the 3-5 Baltimore Ravens this Sunday as 4.5-point home underdogs. The Vikings and starting QB JJ McCarthy pulled off a big upset in their division last week when they beat the Detroit Lions 27-24, while the Ravens got Lamar Jackson back from a hamstring injury to easily beat the Miami Dolphins. Both teams are still in the hunt for a playoff spot and need all the wins they can get.

The Vikings did get their veteran running back Aaron Jones back from injury for the last two games, but Jones picked up yet another injury and is considered questionable, though he likely will play. That will leave the backfield in a committee yet again, as Jordan Mason and Jones split snaps.

Below, we’ll go over Jordan Mason’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 10.

Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings, RB, Jordan Mason

Last week, Mason ended up with more snaps than Jones and the same amount of touches, but that was mostly due to Jones missing time with shoulder and toe injuries. In the end, Jones outplayed Mason fairly easily on a per touch basis. The question this week is if Jones will see his workload scaled back as long as he plays? His age and recent injury trouble seem to make him more suited for a backup role if they’d like to keep him on the field.

There is little doubt that mason will get work this week against the Ravens. The level of that work is in doubt, but there is a good chance he once again gets 10-15 touches. Will he be able to put up enough fantasy points with that workload against the Ravens? Their defense has been awful overall, but they’ve been getting healthier and playing better of late. Overall, they’ve given up the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs, which is not good. They’ve also allowed the third-most rushing touchdowns to the position, which is good for Mason as the likely goal line back. In the end, this is a positive matchup for a running back whose running mate is banged up. I’m starting him in most leagues.
