The 6-3 Green Bay Packers host the 4-6 Minnesota Vikings as 6.5-point favorites this Sunday. The Packers are still very much in the NFC North race and a win against a division opponent would help. The Packers top offensive weapon, running back Josh Jacobs, is questionable for this matchup. Losing him would be a big blow to the offense, but losing him for more than one game would be even bigger.
Josh Jacobs injury updates
Jacobs didn’t practice on Wednesday with his knee injury, but was limited on Thursday and Friday before getting the questionable designation. It sounds like he is pushing to play, but the team may be more conservative. With a short turnaround to a Thursday game, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they rested him in a game they are favored. They’ve also brought up RB Pierre Strong from the practice squad, which is who would become active if Jacobs is out. But they could still end up giving him a healthy scratch, so nothing is set in stone yet.
Fantasy football analysis
If Jacobs does play, he’s a must start, but would have some risk attached to his injury. If Jacobs can’t go, Emmanuel Wilson would get the lead role. The Vikings are tough against the run, but Wilson’s usage with no strong backs behind him, should be good enough to be a worthwhile RB2/3 fantasy start.
