Christian Watson start or sit: Week 12 fantasy football advice

The 6-3 Green Bay Packers host the 4-6 Minnesota Vikings as 6.5-point favorites this Sunday. The Packers are still very much in the NFC North race and a win against a division opponent is very much needed as they look to get their offense back on track.

Wide receiver Christian Watson has been a nice addition to their offense of late, as they lost their best offensive pass catcher, Tucker Kraft, for the season. Watson stepped up big last week, as he caught two touchdowns and finished as WR7 in fantasy.

Below, we’ll go over Christian Watson’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 12.

Packers receivers are extremely tough to predict, as no single receiver has taken over as WR1. Sure, Romeo Doubs is the No. 1 receiver, but he doesn’t get targets or production like many of the league’s WR1s. And Watson hasn’t been that guy so far in his career, but the team is in need and Watson has stepped up. Unfortunately, he isn’t getting a bunch of targets, but he is doing well with the targets he does get.

Through four games he’s caught 12-of-17 targets for 234 yards and two touchdowns. That’s almost 20 yards per reception, so we know those targets are going to be more difficult to bring in and have a better shot of being touchdowns and/or big gainers. Of course, that does make him more volatile in fantasy. But in the end, he’s shown he deserves targets because he has been so productive with them. I expect that to continue this week.
