Chet Gresham takes us through the top 35 quarterbacks for Week 14

Welcome to Week 14 of the NFL season. It’s been a season of extreme parity, which has made for some seemingly crazy results each week. Our final bye week week is here, but Drake Maye is probably the only QB needed for playoff hopeful fantasy teams at this point. Of course Christian McCaffrey is the biggest missing piece for those on the brink of missing the playoffs, but that’s for the running back rankings.

Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers

Quarterbacks on bye

Bryce Young, Drake Maye, Jaxson Dart, Brock Purdy

QB streamer of the week

Tyrod Taylor, Jets vs Dolphins

Taylor put up QB7 numbers last week with the help of a strong rushing day against the Falcons. This week he gets a good matchup with the Dolphins, who rank 30th in DVOA against the pass. Miami also has allowed the second-most rushing yards to quarterbacks this season.

QB injuries/news

J.J. McCarthy, Vikings

McCarthy experience concussion symptoms following their Week 12 game and was placed in concussion protocol. Backup Max Brosmer got the start in Week 13, but was ineffective against the Seahawks. McCarthy has been cleared and will start this week against the Vikings.

Justin Herbert, Chargers

Herbert broke his non-throwing hand in Week 13 and quickly had surgery in hopes of playing this week against the Eagles. It sounds like he has a chance to do just that, but if he can’t go, Trey Lance would get the start.

Jayden Daniels, Commanders

Daniels is throwing well in practice, but hasn’t been cleared for contact yet due to his shoulder injury. If that comes soon, he has a chance to play against the Vikings this week, but there is still a good chance we see Marcus Mariota this weekend.
