New Philadelphia Eagles running back Jerome Harrison closed out the 2009 NFL season with a surge of impressive performances, during which he gained more than 500 yards rushing over the final three games, that appeared to put him on the brink of being a breakout star running back the following season for the Browns. Except when the 2010 season did come around, Harrison found him buried on the bench behind Peyton Hillis.
Fantasy Fantasy, Week 6 News: Can The Jerome Harrison Trade Make Him Relevant Again?
↵After receiving 25 carries the first two weeks of the season, Harrison didn’t touch the ball again until Sunday’s loss against the Falcons, when he carried the ball six times and totaling only six yards.
↵It isn’t clear whether it was a physical problem with Harrison or whether it was falling out of favor with coach Eric Mangini that doomed him in Cleveland, but now he may have a chance to do something again now that he was sent to the Eagles in exchange for Mike Bell. Obviously, LeSean McCoy remains the top back for Philly, but there were enough concerns with a recent rib injury suffered two weeks ago that the team felt it needed better depth behind him. While Harrison won’t make an immediate impact in fantasy, he should make a good handcuff option for a hopeful owner.
