Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Filling The Bye Week Holes On Your Roster

With four NFL teams off during Week 6, you might need a replacement for one of your fantasy football starters. Here’s the place to start looking.

With the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers all on a bye during this sixth week of the NFL season, a few fantasy football starters and studs will be stuck on your bench.

So, here are a few recommended fantasy football replacements for NFL players who won’t take the field this weekend because of the bye.

Off: DeAngelo Williams, Panthers
Waiver Pickup: Ryan Torain, Redskins

Torain is a steal if he's still available to be picked up after becoming the starter in the nation's capital last week, with veteran Clinton Portis out with a groin injury. This week, Torain will square off against a weak Colts' defense that ranks 29th in rush defense, allowing 142.2 yards per game. Torain is in position for a big game on Sunday night.

Off: Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals
Waiver Pickup: Derrick Mason, Ravens

The Patriots defense is struggling this year, ranking 28th against the pass. Mason, one of the veterans on Baltimore's offense, has the capability to break out this week.

Off: Mike Nugent, Bengals
Waiver Pickup: Jeff Reed, Steelers

If this is the week to pick up a new kicker, look no further than Pittsburgh's Jeff Reed. With Ben Rothlisberger coming back from suspension, the Steelers should be able to put up big points against a lousy Browns defense, giving Reed a leg up this week. Plus, Reed's Steelers had a bye last week, so it's likely someone in your league cut him rather than spend two roster spots on kickers.

Off: Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco, Bengals
Waiver Pickup: Tony Moeaki, Kansas City

Moeaki is perfect for a flex position this week as he is up against the Houston Texans, who rank dead last in passing defense, giving up an embarrassing 329.6 yards a game. Owned in just 30 percent of Yahoo! Sports leagues, Moeaki can add depth to a team in need

Off: Carson Palmer, Bengals
Waiver Pickup: David Garrard, Jaguars

Garrard is up for a big week against the Tennessee Titans, who are 27th in the NFL in passing defense, giving up 242.6 yards a contest. Available in 68 percent of Yahoo! Sports leagues, Garrard is an ideal reserve option.
