As the season wears on, each week in fantasy football becomes more and more important. We've done our homework, and here are three players that we think will find themselves in favorable matchups this week.
Fantasy Football Week 6: Favorable Matchups To Exploit
We’re giving you three players that we think have favorable matchups on Sunday: it’s up to you to make the appropriate roster move and exploit them.
RB Frank Gore Vs. Raiders' Defensive Front
The (0-5) San Francisco 49ers have their backs against the wall, and saying that this week’s game against the Raiders is a ‘must-win’ is an understatement. Who better than Frank Gore to help right the ship?
Oakland ranks No. 31 against the run, giving up an abysmal 147.8 ypg on the ground. Raiders struggle in finishing tackles, and Gore excels in breaking them.
Gore fumbled twice in last week’s loss to Philadelphia - something that is extremely uncharacteristic of him. Expect him to be motivated and to put up some big numbers en route to finally getting his team their first victory of the season.
WR Hakeem Nicks Vs. Lions' Secondary
It's clear QB Eli Manning has found a new favorite receiver, which is why Nicks was targeted 17 times in the Giants' game against Houston last week. Of 17 said targets, he caught 12 balls, to the tune of 130 yards and two touchdowns to boot.
This week, he finds himself in a favorable matchup going up against a Lions' secondary which ranks No. 24 in the NFL and is giving up 235.4 ypg through the air.
When the Giants have needed someone to come up big on offense this year, Nicks has rose to the occasion. We expect the wide receiver to have another productive game on Sunday against the Lions.
TE Dustin Keller Vs. Broncos' Defense
After three straight weeks of making fantasy owners happy (5 touchdowns), Keller was a non-factor in last week’s game against Minnesota. He was held to only 2 catches for 14 yards. However, expect that to change this week.
With FS Brian Dawkins as well as FS Darcel McBath likely out due to injury, Keller should have no problems getting open and is primed to have a field day against whoever Denver decides to stick on him.
When the pocket starts to collapse, look for Sanchez to find Keller as his safety valve to bail him out when under pressure.
