Week 7 of the NFL Season is upon us, which means the midway point of the season is just around the corner. The uncapped offseason led to some madness during the first four weeks, but things are now settling down and we’re beginning to see more consistency with some patterns emerging.
Fantasy Football Advice: Matt Cassel, Mike Williams Have Great Matchups In Week 7
Picking five NFL players who find themselves in favorable matchups this weekend and are sure to put up big fantasy numbers.

We’ve watched plenty of film with our clipboards and pens in hand, looking for NFL players who’ll have favorable fantasy football matchups this weekend. It’s up to you to make the appropriate roster change(s) and exploit them.
(Points and data drawn from Yahoo! Fantasy Football)
QB Matt Cassel
Last week was just what Cassel needed. He provided his fantasy owners with 20 points, throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns. The Chiefs' quarterback had managed just 35 points in the four games preceding that one.
Cassel should put up big numbers again this week as the Chiefs go up against the Jaguars and their No. 28 pass defense which has given up 263.7 ypg on average. Furthermore, they rank No. 31 in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks.
WR Mike Williams
Williams is coming off a career week against Chicago and his stock is rapidly rising. He was targeted 15 times and went over 100-plus receiving yards for the first time this season. The wide receiver caught 10 balls for 123 yards and helped Seattle upset the Bears.
This week, Williams reaps the benefit of facing an Arizona pass defense which ranks No. 25 against the pass giving up 241.2 ypg. We look for him to put up big numbers.
With WR Deion Branch shipped to New England, it's clear QB Matt Hasselbeck has found a new favorite target. Oh, and if you can make it happen, trade for him and add him to your roster ASAP.
RB Steven Jackson
Jackson is coming off a strong performance against San Diego, in which he carried the ball 29 times for 109 yards, with one touchdown.
Jackson gets the benefit of facing Tampa Bay's No. 31 ranked rush defense which has been decimated against the run this year, giving up 157 ypg. Yes, the same defense that allowed undrafted free agent RB Chris Ivory to put up 158 yards against them for a ridiculous average of 10.5 yards per carry.
Our projections point to Jackson having a huge afternoon on Sunday.
RB Frank Gore
Gore finds himself in a favorable matchup this week going up against the weak Panthers defensive front which ranks No. 26 against the run and is giving up 134.4 ypg. With QB Alex Smith struggling, we look for a run-heavy offensive gameplan from the Niners and plenty of touches for Gore.
Last week, he carried the ball 25 times to the tune of 149 yards. Start him.
